What is a Manadala.
Welcome to my mandala art gallery. Mandala's are what I enjoy drawing the most. My goal is to create a meditation tool open to interpretation by the individual looking at it. I will be adding new mandalas to this gallery as I draw them.
The mandala is a circular drawing, well known by Jungians as an indicator of internal processes. Jung referred to it as a "cryptogram concerning the state of self" – " Joan Kellogg referred to it as: "Reflections of human consciousness"
Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. translated to mean "circle," a mandala is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds. mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. Each gate is in the shape of a T.
In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of aspirants and adepts, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. According to the psychologist David Fontana, its symbolic nature can help one "to access progressively deeper levels of the unconscious, ultimately assisting the meditator to experience a mystical sense of oneness with the ultimate unity from which the cosmos in all its manifold forms arises.
